Still here!

Hello everyone. I know that it's been a LONG time since I've blogged, I have been really busy. I have both of my boys in baseball and it's games and practices Monday through Friday, then Saturdays we have visitation and Sundays of course is the Lords day, so I really have been busy. I am still on my "health kick" though. I'm in kind of a slump right now, I have not been able to lose any more weight since the last time I posted. I still weigh 163. I have been going to the gym and the lady there tells me its because muscle is building, and muscle weighs more than fat. But I prefer to see the scale go down then muscles come up! But I won't give up. I have lost inches, and right now there is a contest going on at the gym like the "biggest loser" and we'll find out at the end of May who won. There are 2 other ladies from our church that are also in the contest, but I'm hoping that I win! LOL :) If anybody has any suggestions about getting out of this slump please let me know. Stay tuned to find out if I won the contest!!

Has Everyone Lost All Their Weight But Me :( ?

I thought I'd give my co-bloggers the chance to blog but they have deserted me :(

So here I am writing to you ... all by myself.

During the last month, I have had some gall bladder issues. The Doctors want to remove the gallbladder. I don't.

I'm trying to figure out the "right" diet for me. I'm so tired of dieting and I'm tired of feeling like I'm alone in dieting. Soooo, I'm thinking it's time to close this blog.

Any thoughts?

Calories and how to burn them...

I watch the TV show THE BIGGEST LOSER. Last week I learned that we have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound. So I started to look for ways to burn those calories. Here's what I've learned:

Busily cleaning house, doing laundry, hanging clothes outside on clothesline, going up and down stairs, cleaning refrigerator, picking up clothes (doing a lot of bending over and picking up items) 130 calories per hour

Heavy housework; scrubbing floors on hands and knees, stripping paint, hand-washing walls, cleaning the garage. (Using a lot of up and down motion with the body.) 225 calories per hour

Chasing after kids, wiping noses, cleaning scrapes, fixing bruised egos, refereeing, picking up toys 120 calories per hour

Lawn mowing, using a push mower, (bending down often to remove rubbish from the way) gathering up leaves and carrying them away 295 calories per hour

Playing golf, lugging your own clubs around at a fast pace, walking between holes, sweating & labored breathing 370 calories per hour

Power walking, 4 1/2 miles per hour (almost a jog), 400 calories per hour

Walking up and down steep stairs in your own home (12 steps to each set of stairs), not holding on to the banister, not stopping 425 calories per hour

Sleeping 60 calories per hour (8 hours = 480 calories)

No matter what you are doing, you are burning calories. I'm working on getting to the point where I can jog a mile and work my way up to 5 miles. Why? Here's what I learned... Jogging (5 miles per hour)600 calories per hour... PLUS I can do that anywhere.

It's a loss :)

I'm working on the weight loss even harder than before. For one thing, I'm hoping to see Jean in June or September, I want to look and feel my best. And, I have a wedding to go to June 22nd.

Sooooo, here I go again, setting goals and working on getting healthy. Okay, I'm already on the path to a healthier me but I want to take it up a step. I'm going to work on the exercise and intake of water.

Sorry ...


I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back here... I've been keeping busy with work, writing, and family.

I lost another pound last week!! I'm very pleased with the way the Lord is helping me to lose this weight.

How is everyone else doing? My co-posters have been very quiet lately.

Saying Goodbye to another 2 lbs!!!


Thursday night I was pleasantly surprised to have lost another 2 pounds!!! God is so good. He is helping me lose weight through the First Place Live It Program. I love it!! I'm eating smaller portions and working on my Bible Studies.

Speaking of Bible Studies... what is the best time for you to do your Bible Study?
